Ahwatukee Singles Club Review

Chris Bastian from Cirrus Realty helped me buy a house in Tempe in 2006. When I mentioned that I wanted to join local social groups, she introduced me to Ahwatukee Singles. I actually knew Gary Wood, the leader of the group for several years. I met Gary when I was running a singles group in North Phoenix.

The Ahwatukee Singles have been around for 16 years! There is good reason for their success. Good people. Hard work. And committment to keeping the group together. I love this group and all my new friends. For the most part, everyone is very caring and genuinely concerned for one another. Many have been with the group for years and some like myself have just recently joined. New people notice the positive, upbeat, and optimistic nature of the majority. This attracts more people with a similar outlook on life. Guests and new members are always warmly welcomed.

There is a small yearly membership fee that covers the cost of running the group. Membership includes a busy social calendar. Events include a weekly happy hour at different restaurants, dances, game nights, house parties, theatre, movies, discussion groups, 'coffe talk', travel, camping, hiking, ... At the moment you can still choose between receiving a paper calendar, or an email calendar. This is a nice feature if you have friends that still don't use a computer. Also a membership directory with contact information is available every 6 months. To receive a copy you must be a member and you must have your name in the directory. In other words if you're not willing to list your name in the directory, you won't get a copy.
