Competiton Lindy Hop Swing Dancing.

Lindy hop swing dancing is a style of swing dancing that was done mostly in the 1920's to 1930's & it has been back in style for over a decade!

Becaise it's fast paced compared to ballroom dancing, lindy hop tends to attract young dancers or older dancers in excellent physical condition. It's similar to east coast swing, however the styling is different.

Also most dancers do east coast swing to a 6 beat rythm even though advanced dancers will do patterns with 8, 10, 12, and more beats. Lindy hop patterns tend to be mostly 8 beats in length with some 6 beat patterns mixed in. However there are no 'rules' on this. Advanced lindy hop dancers enjoy improvising, creating mew patterns, hitting breaks in the music, and sometimes just being silly.

It's a happy, carefree dance that you might enjoy trying. Bring back the good old days. What a great way to reduce stress and have some fun. It's easy to find places to take lessons and dance in the Phoenix area. Most of the time you don't even need a partner! There are plenty of singles and couples that live to Lindy Hop. Most dancers exchange partners after every song.
