This is a fun place to take your children or grandchildren on hot summer days. Located at Tempe Town Lake, the Splash Playground has plenty of room for kids to run around and have burn up all that energy. The playground has refreshing water geysers, fountains, and sprays that shoot up from the ground, from up above, and horizontally. There are also a couple of water slides.
There are places for to sit and watch your children or you can put on a bathing suit and become a kid again. Although there is shade, most of the water is located in the hot sun so be sure to bring plenty of sun screen and bottled water to drink.
You can also find a 'mini' splash water playground at the Tempe Marketplace Mall, which is located at Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock. The water playground is in the courtyard by Barnes and Noble. It's nothing as elaborate as the Tempe Splash Playground but it does offer plenty of fun for toddlers.
